Politicians, businesspeople and those within the media were unanimous in their view that BEE which targets women within the Asian community, will be much more than something women turn to for gossip and relationship advice.
Reading BEE will instead fulfil the intellectual needs of Asian women, with articles focussing on politics, history, art and literature. One of the speakers at the launch was Kamel Hothi, Corporate Asian Markets Director for Lloyds TSB. She said “this is magazine will act a journal which will give women confidence and strength as they face their struggles.”

He commended the BEE team for their efforts in trying to bring women’s’ issues to the forefront and trying empower them through the magazine. Mr Sarwar who is a strong supporter of women’s rights especially in his native Pakistan said, “People don’t realise that by denying education to a woman you are stopping a whole family too.”
